Let’s Ride Camps

The USA Cycling “Let’s Ride” Camp is a nationwide bicycle safety and basic bike skills education curriculum, taught to elementary school-aged children through summer day camps, physical education classes, and afterschool programs throughout the USA. The Let’s Ride Camp curriculum is intended to be 1-2 hours in length and will be free for all participants.

USA Cycling will be hosting Let’s Ride Camps across the USA with a view to:
Teach kids how to ride their bikes safely
Provide the first point of contact with USA Cycling for families and future riders – Provide access to bikes for kids who would not otherwise have such an opportunity

Get 20,000 kids on bikes and familiarized with USA Cycling in 2021. Partner with industry connections to ensure that 5000 kids are able to gain access to and enjoy bikes for the first time.

The USA Cycling Coach Education Program will be revamped to provide USA Cycling coaches with CEUs for hosting Let’s Ride Camps
USA Cycling coaches will be utilized to deliver the camps
Provide ‘camp in a box’ that enables coaches to deliver the Camps with limited preparation necessary
Aim for 25% of the Camps being delivered within Tier 1 Schools and those with Free and Reduced Lunch Program

Goal to provide (and donate) all necessary equipment for camps hosted within these populations

Partner with local schools and organizations to create sustainable bike programs utilizing the donated equipment (following the Camps)
