Catherine Neff
Catherine grew up being active outdoors playing multiple sports and riding bikes around the yard. She started actively riding and racing mountain bikes, cyclocross, and road bikes in 2013 and quickly became hooked on the sport. After she participated in a skills clinic and saw how much learning proper techniques helped her riding she knew she needed to pass all these tools to others to help grow and develop the mountain bike community.
Catherine earned her first certification through BICP in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. She’s been coaching since 2016 and founded Ride Inspired Coaching, LLC in 2018 as a means to bring inclusive private lessons and clinics to women, men, and youth in Northern Ohio. In the summer of 2018, Catherine also founded CAMBA Juniors, a youth developmental MTB club that is now a feeder program for Ohio’s NICA league. She’s been coaching at Ray’s Indoor Bike Park since 2016 and helped to develop the weekly ladies’ night programming. She has traveled to coach in multiple states across the country and has coached clinics with Radical Roots MTB, Sundance Mountain Bike Skills Clinics, Stark Parks, Medina Parks, The Columbus Mountain Bike Association, and The Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association, Summit Metroparks, and Cleveland Metroparks. In addition to teaching, she occasionally races in the local mtb series in the pro/expert class.
Catherine is a born teacher and educator and loves to see riders have those “ah ha” moments. As a coach, her passion is rooted in helping riders find confidence, overcome fears, and develop a love of adventure. She’s highly sought after for her relatability and her direct, thorough, and fun approach to teaching riding skills. Catherine has done extensive coursework outside of cycling in education and teaching and is currently pursuing trauma-informed learning and education. In addition to mountain bike coaching, she also teaches private piano lessons and works in real estate title insurance.
