Heather comes to BICP following 5 years of service with the Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA), her state’s youth league. She performed various roles for the league including board positions, team coach, and Director of Coaching. In 2019 Heather received her BICP Level 2 certification and also coordinated with BICP to bring multiple certification courses to Michigan. Her experience and passion for mountain biking come from a decade of racing Xterra and mountain bike events where she got to enjoy trails all over the country.
In 2017 she traded in her cleats for flats and switched her focus to coaching. She particularly likes coaching women and beginners and loves introducing them to skills to make riding more comfortable and fun. Heather has also worked as a physical therapist and has two grown children. She currently coaches for GRIT Clinics, Ladies All Ride, and Ninja Mountain Bike Performance. She and her husband spend time traveling the country with their camper and 3 dogs riding many fun trails along the way.
