Chapter 7 – LEVEL 4 EXPERT SKILLS
This chapter will provide a teaching resource for each of the BICP Level 4 Expert Skills. A detailed breakdown for each skill, including specific keywords used for teaching the skill, a goal for the lesson, and detailed explanations of key bike and body movements. Examples of error detection and corrections for common riding errors, and skill progressions.
Although the skills in this chapter have been organized in a logical order, this is not intended to be the order you use for teaching lessons.
This course will be taught in closed and open environments and participants are expected to be familiar with teaching skills lessons in an open environment and know how to respond to unforeseen circumstances.
The skills are taught in modules to help participants break down the BICP Level 4 Expert Skills Instructor Certification course into smaller pieces. The modules must be completed in order. The completion of the modules combined with passing the in-person testing requirements (BICP Ride Standards) will satisfy the requirements for a BICP Level 4 Expert Skills Instructor Certification.
