After a recent ownership change, we’re rollin’ into 2018 courses. We are continually developing our certification program, facilitating an open learning environment, and building the community with our team of BICP coaches and staff. We are hard at work developing new and improved resources with tools and support to help you in your coaching endeavors.

The program will continue to offer the BICP Certifications globally. The BICP has several new courses, check them out under the COURSES OVERVIEW menu above! All current ICP certifications will be honored,  and will by default become ‘BICP’ Certifications.

The Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) is awaiting final approval as a non-profit 501(c) 3.

You can expect the same standard of excellence and commitment to building better MTB riders.

If you have any questions, please reach out, we are just an email or phone call away!

Our mission is to advance the global standard for mountain bike instruction, driving an inclusive community that empowers our members through education, certification, service, and experience.

Tim Wolfgram, Director of Snowsports Services at Solitude Mountain Resort

Thank you so much for scheduling our Level 1 & 2 BICP [courses] at Solitude and Corner Canyon trail system. Wow, all I can say is wow.

We loved the course and I felt it did so many things for my team. We improved our skills, learned about progressions, safety, learned about guiding and teaching, and had a lot of fun.  This was the best thing for my team and myself to do, so we can confidently start up our [mountain bike coaching] school here at Solitude. I am very happy; our time and money was well spent. I must say that Lisa was phenomenal; she did a super job and covered everything in level 1 and 2 so very well, and,  what a great person -- she made it fun! [The final day] was stressful but we were well prepared. I am soooooo happy. Again, thank you I am thrilled!!!

Englebrook School Athletics

Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Today, it's a junior boarding and day school for boys in grades six, seven, eight, and nine, with a robust athletics program. As such, the school sent the following testimonial, dated 8/24/18, following the completion of their BICP skills training:
Eaglebrook’s Mountain Biking Coaches were lucky enough to participate in a few days of training in early August. The school hosted the Bike Instructors Certification Program for a Level 1 and Level 2 Certification course. As the Mountain Bike program at Eaglebrook has grown, with over 30 riders in recent years, it has become important for the coaches and student riders to have a common language in which to talk about and learn the sport. The Eaglebrook Mountain Bike program is not specifically a racing program, because it welcomes riders at all levels and inclinations. The BICP certification ensures that the school is offering the best instruction in the fundamentals and skills to riders at all levels, and allows the coaches to rest assured that the riders are progressing with a focus on safety and fun that will hopefully lead to a lifelong love of the sport. “This course exceeded our expectations,” said Head Mountain Biking coach Adam Williams. “The techniques and skills we learned will have a major impact on the Mountain Bike Program at Eaglebrook. We learned so much about the latest instructional techniques and progressed dramatically in our own skills. It was an incredible experience, and all of the coaches are really excited to bring what they learned to the team in September,” he added. Learn more about Eaglebrook athletics at

Rafaella W. “Roxy”, Owner and Founder of & Tours & Skills

I flew all the way to the USA 🇺🇸 to complete the BICP Level 3 - Advanced Skill Instructor Certification (which is the highest qualification for MTB coaches *worldwide*, with less than 25 coaches who have ever successfully completed this certification). Although I had already taken part in many level 1-3 certifications in Europe, this course gave me an incredible insight into the finer nuances of advanced riding skills (such as manuals, jumping, nose manual turns, drops and fast cornering). I was so happy to have an extremely experienced and open-minded group and a great instructor - Shaums March - we all had great discussions, have been able to aid each other to make remarkable progress. I have been able to not only improve my own riding and demo skills, but also to get detailed insight into international coaching styles, skills analysis and their instruction, error detection, terminology and so many more elements that are part of the complex (but amazing) job of COACHING. Thanks to this course I now feel that I can be an even better coach and I am looking forward to applying and constantly improving my teaching - now also in ENGLISH 😊 Thank you Nicole @nicolegerow1 , Matt @matthewjtrotter , Elliott @elliottwhiiite , Bernhard @240bernhardhavelka , Fred @2unlock , Tal @sababike for an amazing time! And thank you Shaums March @shaumsmarch - you are one one the few world-class-athletes that is really able to break down complex skills and teach them at all levels. I highly recommend this venue!!! I took my BICP L1 [in Killington, VT] a few weeks ago. The staff at Killington could not have been more accommodating. I wish I had the time off from work because I would not hesitate to enroll in [the upcoming Level 2] class!

[Ben Tufford & Reed Betz] both were superb instructors! Patient, professional, and subject matter experts. They collaborated well while imparting their knowledge to us. Their delivery of the material was not onerous or prohibitive in anyway. They maintained - while transferring the same - zeal and sheer enthusiasm of MTB cycling and role of being guides. They have positively and indelibly impacted my MTB knowledge and ability.

I've been an active and certified instructor in Israel for over 5 years before doing the L1+L2 combo led by Shaums March - While I did expect to hone my skills and learn new things it was really surprising to see how much material goes in the course, the amount of details and eventually how my coaching ( and riding ) skills were massively upgraded. Now riders that come to my sessions simply get a better service, looking forward to Level 3 !

Agustin J. Legorreta

Moab, UT / L1-2 Combo Class/ June 2018
"It’s almost a week since I got back from the L1-L2 Certification Program in Moab, and I can´t believe the awesome and life changing experience I had. It has changed me as an MTB cyclist and it defined the before and after for the BETTER in more ways that I would of thought possible. The structure, in-depth analysis and breakdown of each skill is amazing. It’s an invaluable set of tools that will make each of us better cyclist and therefore, we can become extremely competent skills instructors. If you decide to get a Certification, prepare yourself to work hard and be on point each hour ‘cause it is not a walk in the park. I highly recommend it.  I can’t thank enough Mike Holme, [Instructor Trainer] in charge of our group and Nicole Gerow [program manager]. I’m very proud of being part of the ICP team!"
