BICP Drop Bar Level 1 Fundamental Skills Instructor
Congratulations! On behalf of the Bike Instructor Certification Program, we are pleased to welcome you to our Global family of Certified Mountain Bike Instructors.
The Bike Instructor Certification Program’s mission is to advance the global standard for bike instruction, driving an inclusive community that empowers our members through education, certification, service, and experience.
With the widely popular and growing sport of Road and Gravel biking, we have developed this skills course for skills instructors for people riding in these disciplines. The BICP Drop Bar Level 1 Fundamental Skills Instructor course was developed to provide comprehensive training for “drop bar” bike skills. This material is valuable for many types of leaders, people working as ride instructors for biking clubs, and outdoor recreation educational programs, or for recreational riders wanting to be better prepared when riding with friends.
The BICP Drop Bar Level 1 Fundamental Skills Instructor Certification course is intended to be an all-inclusive training for fundamental skills coaching, an intensive course focused on skill analysis, effective teaching, and skills progressions with evaluations in each of those areas.
This online prework will take approximately 16 hrs to complete including the review of the Ride Leader Modules. Read each chapter and complete the quiz. The prework is a requirement and completion is due one week before attending your in-person course.
70% is required to PASS. Read each question carefully. The questions are multiple-choice or best-answer. Please contact the BICP administration if you did not successfully pass any of the quizzes.
Remember this isn’t a skills LEARNING course, but a skill TEACHING course.
You’ll be learning how to teach these skills to others.
