BICP Level 2 Pre-Test
Mountain biking is a fast-growing sport, and as more people take to the trails, there is an increasing need for experienced riders to assume leadership. The BICP Level 2 Intermediate Skills Instructor Certification course was developed to provide comprehensive training for mountain bike coaching, rider assessment, and intermediate skills instruction. This material is valuable for many types of leaders, people working as ride instructors for mountain biking clubs, outdoor recreation educational programs, or for recreational riders wanting to be better prepared when riding with friends.
The BICP Level 2 Intermediate Skills Instructor Certification course is intended to be an all- inclusive training to intermediate skills coaching, an intensive course focused on skill analysis, effective teaching, and skills progressions with evaluations in each of those areas.
The BICP strongly recommends that club leaders or employers establish their own pre- requisites (including minimum age limit, maturity level, personal disposition, emergency medical training, and previous experience). They should also develop their own safety standards, operational procedures, and emergency action plans, in order to manage risk and to satisfy their own insurance policy. In the interest of promoting the sport, make sure you ride trails in a safe and responsible manner, set a good example for others, and manage riders, to avoid accidents, injuries, and conflict with other trail users.
The Bike Instructor Certification Program is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the goal of the BICP is to break down the barrier to entry by increasing access to professionally trained and certified mountain bike instructors.
We thank you for your participation and wish you well with your future pursuits in the sport of mountain biking
