MMBA Women’s Weekend

A camping event at Addison Oaks for Fundamentals through Intermediate riders.

The League of Michigan Bicyclists – LMB/Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance has a weekend-long clinic available at Addison Oaks. The idea behind the setup is that women only need to set up their tent and bring their bike (there is a commuter option). We will handle the rest.

The price includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Friday and Saturday, a 1 coach to 5 participants ratio, food and beverages available throughout the clinic, camp-side goodies, an on-site bike mechanic, learning skills and applying them on the trail, and a swag giveaway on Sunday.

We want the women who attend this event to be able to focus on learning new skills, applying them, and having fun. We will be able to teach skills like how to ride switchbacks, climbing, descending, front wheel lifts, rear wheel lifts, and roll downs. For the more intermediate/advanced riders, we will have coaching for things like the manual, bunny hop, berms, pumping, drops, and jumping. We will take the trail application over to Stony Creek for the intermediate/advanced riders since there’s a sweet little pump track there as well as some nice berms to practice.

There is a one-day FUNdamentals women-only option on Saturday, June 14th, for those who cannot commit to a full weekend.
