REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT CLOSES April 15, 2026

A minimum enrollment is required.

The online prework must be completed two weeks prior to attending this in-person testing portion of the certification. All participants are required to attend a  Zoom call prior to attending the in-person testing portion of the certification.

The online prework will take approximately 24 hours to complete, including a quiz after each chapter.

This course teaches stability and biomechanics, teaching strategy, site selection, goal setting, proper demonstrations, keywords, progressions, and error detection for all the Level 1 Fundamental Skills.

We require flat pedals in our mountain bike courses because our BICP-certified instructors have trained their feet to be active and engaged, knowing that if and when they apply these foot/pedal techniques back to their clips, they will be better riders.

Pro Tip: Flats vs Clips is not an either/or decision – it’s an “and.” When possible, learn and practice skills in flat pedals so that riders train their feet to engage the pedals.

If riders learn skills in flats and then apply the fundamentals of active and engaged feet to their clips, they will be better riders. By retraining their feet to be dynamic, their ankles will become more supple and flexible, which will help their pedaling power and form.
