BICP – COACHING GIRLS IN MOUNTAIN BIKING
Creating Confident, Brave, and Lifelong Riders

Course Overview
Girls often start mountain biking later than boys and leave earlier. When they do ride, they can face unique pressures: to be perfect, to fit in, to take up less space, and to “not be too much.” All of that can get in the way of trying new skills, taking healthy risks, and discovering just how strong they really are.
This course is designed to change that.
As a skills coach, you have the power to create a riding environment where girls feel seen, supported, and excited to show up. You’ll learn how to build a culture that keeps girls in the sport longer, helps them grow their skills, and supports them in becoming happier, healthier, more confident young women.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Create a welcoming, girl-positive riding culture.
- Understand how girls develop physically, mentally, and emotionally at various stages of their lives.
- Coach in ways that reduce stress and increase learning, fun, and engagement.
- Build bravery, not perfectionism.
- Use practical, age-appropriate strategies to help girls connect, compete, and thrive on the bike.
