We respectfully acknowledge that this course will take place on the traditional territories of the Kalapuya, Chinuk Wawa, and Upper Chinook, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.

The online prework will take approximately 30 hours to complete, including a quiz after each chapter.

This course teaches stability and biomechanics, teaching strategy, site selection, goal setting, proper demonstrations, keywords, progressions, and error detection for all the Level 1 Fundamental Skills.

We require flat pedals in our mountain bike courses because our BICP-certified instructors have trained their feet to be active and engaged, knowing that if and when they apply these foot/pedal techniques back to their clips, they will be better riders.

The BICP uses the Minimum Ride Standard when testing for Certification.

BICP Certification courses are designed to teach participants how to instruct skills, not to learn the skills themselves.
