When I recall 2015, when I first became certified as a ride leader and level 1 & 2 skills instructor, it’s hard to believe that 10 years later, I am still part of the BICP family. Every four years, I return to meet with BICP’s dedicated and passionate instructor trainers to recertify and check in on my own skills, learn new teaching techniques, and even learn new bike-skill techniques.

One of my favorite things about these events is visiting new places and meeting new people. Everyone in the class supports each other; we all want to do well. We are all passionate about the sport, about our capacity to help others, and we each understand the benefit of keeping our certifications current. Over the past 10 years, the BICP has grown, progressed, and advanced, and I believe they always will. This is why I continue to recertify every four years: I am proud to be part of the BICP family.
