CINDY ABBOTT
Cindy Abbott has been a professional outdoor educator for over 10 years instructing and guiding outdoor experiences for everyone from youth to senior citizens for private, public, and non-profit organizations. She spent most of her formative years playing competitive soccer, earning an SEC Championship while playing for University of Kentucky. She started rock climbing in high school, thus igniting a passion for all things outdoors and kick-starting her professional outdoor career.
Undoubtedly, now, her number 1 passion is mountain biking: she has earned experience as a USA Cycling XC Mountain Bike National Champion, BICP Level 2 Skills Instructor & Instructor Trainer, NICA High School Mountain Bike coach, Director of a women’s non-profit mountain bike program, and UCI Professional downhill and Enduro mountain bike racer. She is passionate about sharing mountain biking with everyone, but really loves empowering women to get into this amazing sport. She is also an American Mountain Guide Association Single Pitch Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, and a Professional Climbing Instructor Association Instructor Trainer.
Cindy is a student of life, and her approach to instructing is taking advantage of every teachable moment, allowing students to learn from their experiences. She also loves to laugh so bring the jokes!
When Cindy is not getting her fix of dirt on the trails, you’ll find her climbing the limestone cliffs of El Potrero Chico, Mexico, her favorite place in the world.
