Angela Brooks
Instructor Trainer
Angela Brooks has been riding bikes her whole life. In the late 1990’s she began teaching kids to ride mountain bikes daily in her role as a camp counselor and bought her first MTB in 1999. She and her husband have been riding together since 2000 (she thinks her husband fell in love with her because she had a MTB). After participating in women’s Mtb clinics at Ray’s and in the midwest she decided she wanted to teach women to ride and received her Ride Guide and Level 1 Certificate in June of 2017 with the plan of hosting and teaching at her own clinics in SE Wisconsin. She received her Level 2 BICP Certification in 2018 and became an Instructor Trainer for the BICP in 2019.
She and her husband taught all 3 of their daughters to ride bikes from a young age and spent many weekends at indoor mtb parks, and local trail systems as a “mountain bike” family. Angela became very involved with the Wisconsin NICA League as a coach and coach trainer because of her experiences with the BICP. Recently she and her friend created a YouTube channel they call The Mountain Bike Chicks which focuses on women’s mountain biking skills, products, and general mtb girl talk. With the help of fellow riders, she founded and was president of the Kenosha Area Mountain Bike Association. She, with her husband, host Women on Wheels MTB Clinics and Adventure Kids Camps, annually, in Wisconsin, through her fat bike rental and mountain bike instruction company, Brooks Adventures LLC.“Mountain biking has been such a large part of my life for over 25 years. My husband and I love spending time on our bikes riding and coaching. We have developed a wonderful network of friends where most of our activities revolve around biking. I decided to start teaching mountain bike skills for very selfish reasons. I really just wanted more women to ride with!”
